Piano Soloist

Haewon Yang is a Korean-born Canadian-American pianist known for her expressive and meticulous performances across various genres. She has won numerous awards, including from the Shean Music Competition and Indiana University Concerto Competition.

She has performed widely across North America, including with the Santa Fe Community Orchestra and in venues such as Purdue University and the Tippecanoe Chamber Music Festival.

Haewon holds a Doctor of Music from Indiana University, specializing in child prodigy composers. She has taught at Indiana University East and currently teaches at the University of New Mexico – Los Alamos. She remains active as both a performer and educator while residing in Los Alamos, NM.

Conductor 

William Waag is a passionate conductor and music educator in northern New Mexico and has led the Santa Fe Youth Symphony since 2014. He is the Santa Fe Symphony’s Associate Artistic Director of Youth Programs, and is also the Principal Conductor of the Santa Fe Community Orchestra and the Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his roles with local ensembles, William is a frequent guest conductor and clinician across the nation.
